About Mom and Dad

Dad's 1991 Red YJ and Mom's 2005 Khaki Tj

Mom was a stay at home mom for 19 years, before that she worked in the auto parts industry. When she met Dad he was a auto mechanic. The two of them have always been interested in cars.  Mom's interest started as a child. She grew up in a home of two car enthusiast. Car clubs and show were the norm in Mom's life. Dad started his interest while working on cars with his father. Then as a teenager Dad found the joy of owning his  own vehicle, and found he  enjoyed  working on them himself and showing them off to others.

In the early years of Mom and Dads life their cars had to be more for function than for fun. As their boys got older they were able to put a bit more time and energy in to the cars and trucks they would own. Their love for outdoors and for solitude would lead them in  the direction of four wheel drive trucks.  Along the way they had a 1980 Plymouth Trail Duster, 1990 Jeep Wrangler, 1990 Ford Bronco,1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2002 Nissan Frontier, 2003 Ford F 150 Super Crew and an 2005 F250 Crew Cab. Most of those rigs where used to take us to populated camping sites or other area's that where not really that hard to get to.

When our kids graduated and moved on with their lives we decided to down size our rigs. We no longer needed to seat half a wrestling team or half an Explorer Post. We decided it was time to get back to a Wrangler.  This time around with out kids to worry about ( read spend money on) We decided to join a group and really enjoy it.  Mom and Dad found an awesome group of Jeepers on Wranglerforum.com. N2jeepn took them both under his wing and has been teaching them ever since.

Mom's first run driving was in the spring of 2011,  she overcame a huge fear of driving off of  narrow mountain roads and fell in LOVE with wheeling! (read about her first trip here) She enjoyed herself so much she told Dad he had to buy his own Jeep as she didn't want to share anymore! Since we had gotten rid of our tow rig it was a matter of selling our camp trailer for Dad to get his Jeep. Mom is wheeling a 2005 Wrangler TJ and Dad is wheeling an 1991 Wrangler YJ. Not that either one of them look anything like their stock version!

Mom wants to take the  readers along on her adventures with Dad as well as let the reader explore the Off Road world with her.
